李莔莔：5th anniversary he wants to have something special for me and booked Brasserie 1893 in Waldorf Astoria Beijing in the end. No exception they only provided Valentine's Day set menu CNY 1999 for 2 pax exclude 15% service charge, and without drink, either you pay 520 per pax extra for the wine or order drink separately.
To be honest the set menu not really worth the price they charge, as well as the service.
The brasserie is smaller than I imagined and the semi opened kitchen was a bit noisy. Most of the waiters and waitress are foreigners. But what surprised me was, they served the dishes to each tables not in theright order… The other table came an hour late than us but you can't believe they got their second main course earlier than us… And at that time we've been waiting for the 2nd main course for more than 20mins, we can only expect the eye contact with waiters but unfortunately…I have to wave my hands ask them to come. The Chinese waitress said she knew nothing because the manager decide the order of each table and she didn't look around our area! This is really piss me off, I'm not that picky but really cannot accept such excuse. This should not happen in such high level hotel restaurant. BTW when we book the table days ago, the sales promised us to prepare a cake with 5th anniversary plate but turned out to the chocolate sweet of the set menu, I think this was due to the bad communication between sales and kitchen.
Anyway the dishes are not bad but really the service didn't match the brand value.。
